To assist my guests and create a hassle-free experience, I personally pick up guests staying in the container on the island of Flores when they arrive.
Whether you come by bus or by plane, simply take a Tuc Tuc (5:00 am–7:30 pm), a taxi, or one of the yellow–blue Turibuses (after 7:30 pm) and ask them to take you to Cool Beans Restaurant (Café Chilero) in Flores.
Please note: There is also a Cool Beans in San Miguel — that is not the meeting point.
Please send me your arrival time at least one day in advance so I can adjust my schedule and be there on time.
Early Check-In / Late Check-Out:
If you wish to check in early or check out late, this can be arranged if the house is available. Either option has an additional cost of Q70 per person. For early check-in, I will meet you at the restaurant around 7:30–8:00 am.
The latest possible check-out is 6:00 pm.
Late Arrivals (After 8:00 pm):
The last flight of the day typically lands around 7:50 pm, which makes it difficult to meet the official check-in window of 2:00–8:00 pm. If your transport arrives on time and you proceed directly to Flores, I am happy to pick you up on the island and accompany you to the house.
However, if your flight is significantly delayed, or if you choose to stop somewhere else (for dinner, errands, etc.) and cannot go straight to the house, you will need to use the self check-in option. After 8:00 pm the available boats become limited, and after 9:00 pm I will not be available by phone or message — my place is a home, not a 24-hour reception.
Self Check-In Instructions:
Self check-in is simple and reliable:
• Make your way to the island of Flores.
• Go to the public boat dock next to the “bomba de agua” and take a boat across to San Miguel (boats run less frequently after 8 pm), or use the motorbike ferry in the same area. The ferry runs until approximately 10:00 pm.
• Walk or take a Tuc Tuc to the house. The owner’s number is +502 3047 9194. You can usually reach him until around 9:00 pm; after that, Tuc Tuc service is unavailable.
• Retrieve the key from the lockbox using the code I will send you. I will also send you a small map to make arrival easier.
I’m more than happy to assist during check-in hours, but if you arrive later, it’s important to follow these self check-in steps so everything goes smoothly for both of us.
Quiet Hours:
Quiet hours begin at 8:00 pm on the property so that all guests can wind down and relax. Please be mindful when entering late at night.
I will see you the following morning to say hi.

Yes - water and electricity are available but sometimes very unreliable. Especially in summer with the tropical thunderstorms, power outages are common.
Water is generally not a problem. However - during the night, the city turns off the water supply to fill the communal tank that feeds the towns system. That means that from around 11pm until 4.30am there is generally no water.
And since the local water supply depends on an electrical pump, if the power is out, so is the water.
