Hummingbirds flitted in the garden constantly and sounds of other birds colored the air. The airbnb had the perfect amount of seclusion and proximity to Flores for me. The house's modern design and upscale amenities were very appealing. I enjoyed being able to cook my own meals in the kitchen.

The only thing I would note was the smell of cigarette smoke on the furniture when I first arrived. Thankfully, Umberto had aromatic incense available to use during my stay. Also, the "hot" shower was also less warm and than I would have liked, but it wasn't a big issue given the hot climate.

Umberto is an incredible host – professional yet so personal. He picked us up himself, helped us arrange bus and ferry tickets to Belize, and gave excellent recommendations for the area. His hospitality truly made all the difference!

There’s also the opportunity to take cooking classes with Umberto or enjoy breakfast on-site, which we’d love to try next time.

  We quite enjoyed our stay here. The location was very peaceful and nicely situated in the forest. This natural setting, of course, comes with a trade-off; you must first go... read more to the island of Flores (park your car on the street --- don't worry about leaving it overnight, it's a safe town), take a ferry with Umberto across to San Miguel, and then a tuk tuk up to the property. But it's worth it for the setting.

The amenities in the shipping container were great --- we loved cooking dinner and enjoying it outside at the picnic table under the fairy lights with the sounds of the night time jungle chorus all around us. Note, the picnic table is a shared space so there are some rules of common use, but this was never an issue for us. And while it can get warm in the shipping container, if you open the windows and turn on the fan, it's not an issue.

Umberto was very friendly and easily accessible if you had a question.

Certainly a cool choice with a clear eco-conscious design.
